    Itinerary Design and Activities

     

    Our goal is to offer "off the beaten path" tours with an itinerary and activities that are as unique and enjoyable as the destinations we visit. Our itinerary should highlight the region, in a way that limits the time you spend in a bus. It should create lasting memories and inspire you to travel again!

    How would you rate the Tour and tasting at Chateau Balac (with the nice older woman who was the daughter-in-law of the founder. We had the tasting in the old kitchen of the estate. Very cozy)

    How would you rate the Tour and tasting at Prieure-Lechine?(This was the large modern winery with the tasting in the retail portion…one long glass table, very tall chairs. Lots of shopping was done here.)

    How would you rate the Village of St. Emilion? (This is the village filled with wine stores, some steep streets. We did a short walk when we left, around a vineyard.)

    How would you rate the Tour and tasting at Chateau Beauregard, in the Pomerol region? This was the chateau we entered through a courtyard. The young man gave us a nice tour (locking the doors behind us as he was the only person there.) They had a nice veranda in back and a beautiful lawn adjacent to the vines, where we strolled before going into the winery. The tasting was at a giant wooden table where we stood.

    How would you rate the Village of Rocamadour? This is where we walked from the hotel down a zigzag path (with stations of the cross) into the village, then through the village, meeting our bus at the far end.

    How would you rate the Walk after our picnic lunch, along the Lot river and up into Saint-Cirq-Lapopie?

    How would you rate the Village of Saint-Cirq-Lapopie? This is where the two groups (hikers and bus riders) eventually met up. Some shopping was accomplished here, as well as some relaxing at a sidewalk café in the town square.

    How would you rate the Wine tasting at the shop next to the spectacular Valentre bridge in Cahors?

    How would you rate the Visit to village of Cordes-sur-Ciel?(This is where we took the cute tourist train up to the top of the village, then wandered back down through the winding streets.)

    How would you rate the Tasting and tour of Mas de Combes estate? (This is the 14th generation family winery outside of Cordes. The husband was busy with the harvest, so his wife and her sister did the tasting outside in the yard. Then a walk to the winery and a short tour.)

    How would you rate your dining experience for Lunch buffet on Day 2 at Relais de Margaux, the Golf and Spa resort? We ate at one large table.

    How would you rate your dining experience for Lunch at Chateau La Dominique, outside of the town of St. Emilion? This was the modern red building with the outdoor patio filled with red glass rocks. We ate inside here, at two tables…very busy with other diners, nice views through the windows or from out on the terrace.
