Have you ever noticed that whenever you contemplate Ireland and all things Irish, it’s always in the most cheerful of terms? Think about it…what images does your mind conjure up? Quaint pastoral villages, stone walls twixt roving flocks of sheep, hale and hearty Irishmen laughing in the local pub behind their pints, leprechauns hoarding a fabled pot o’ gold, four leaf clovers bringing legendary luck, emerald green hills bordered by dramatic rocky coastlines, and all of these elements surrounded by the windswept Irish Sea. The list goes on and on…and the best part is…it’s all real, and there for you to experience! (Yes, even the leprechauns.)
Like many of the world’s superlative destinations, Ireland is a magical place meant to be explored by total immersion, not from the window of a bus. On our Go Get Lost in Ireland adventures we’ll take you on the countryside paths and through the cobblestone streets of some of the most beautiful towns on the Emerald Isle. We’ll meet the people, live the culture, walk the spectacular countryside and experience everything about this wonderful land. We’ll take you to some of the most charming and fascinating areas of Ireland…towns with impossible names like Skibbereen, Dingle, Kenmare, Bantry, and Killarney. You’ll walk along windswept coastlines where impossibly green mountains end in surf-pounded rocky cliffs, complete with wheeling seabirds. You’ll stroll along countryside lanes bordered by rock walls and occasional flocks of sheep…and you’ll wander pastel colored villages with pubs aplenty….picture postcard views everywhere you look! And the charm and warmth of the native Irish is legendary. Our adventures span the wondrous island from the heritage-rich southwest to the windswept and picturesque west to the historic lanes of Dublin. We focus on areas where the Irish heritage is at its peak, with Irish (not English) being the primary language. Get off the beaten path on one of our trips to Ireland, and you’ll marvel at spectacular views that most tourists never see!
And no mention of Ireland is complete without including the legendary game of golf. Go Get Lost will debut our Golfing on the Emerald Isle tour in the spring of 2014. Centering around the fabulous courses on the eastern half of the island, we’ll have a wonderful week of playing some of Ireland’s finest links, paired with some enjoyable extra-curricular activities. We’re also hard at work refining our new Western Coast of Ireland tour that will let you explore far, far off the beaten tourist path. And what tour of Ireland would be complete without visiting historic Dublin? On all of our Irish adventures there’s always the option to add on a 3 day Discover Dublin experience.
