Day 1: Benvinguts a Barcelona
Upon arrival in Barcelona today you'll check in to your charming hotel perfectly situated near the city center. Tonight you'll meet your local guide for a unique Go Get Lost combination walking tour of some of Barcelona's most famous sites...and some of its famous tapas bars! As you wander from one fascinating venue to the next, you'll duck into a few of the more popular of Barcelona's tapas bars to recharge and refuel with the locals! Eventually you'll find your way to a stunning panoramic overlook of the city, and and equally excellent restaurant nearby for your dinner. Barcelona's cuisine draws from Catalonia's simple country dishes but utilizes ingredients from the Mediterranean, the nearby farms and the Pyrenees Mountains. Thousands of years of connection with France and Italy have contributed to the unique style of Catalonian cuisine. And what better to start your meal with than a glass of sparkling Cava, that world-renown bubbly produced just south of Barcelona in the Penedes wine region.
Day 2: The Pastry Walk and La Pedrera
This morning we join our guide to further explore the city while enjoying another unique aspect of Barcelona's food culture. Our tour begins in the Escribà, a corner pastry shop where we can admire the legendary and characteristic modernist beauty of Barcelona. We then pass through the Gothic quarter and the emblematic delicatessens along Petrixol street, where tantalizing chocolate shops abound. A second stop in the Borne neighborhood leads us to Espai Sucre to taste their sweetest tapas, and then on to finish up in the Santa María del Mar, where we will enjoy the specialties of BUBO topped off with a lovely glass of Catalan champagne. We'll then settle in to a typical catalan lunch, featuring local specialties.
You have the afternoon free to wander this vibrant city on your own. You can retrace your steps to some of the sites you were introduced to over the last two days, and spend more quality time in whichever strikes your fancy. Or perhaps your style is shopping along Barcelona's graceful Las Ramblas pedestrian boulevard with its many shops and boutiques. Whatever you do, save some energy for tonight...Catalonians don't go to bed early!
Tonight prepare to be enchanted, as we have a very special visit planned to Antoni Gaudi's masterpiece "Casa Mila - La Pedrera“. You'll be captivated by the spectacular night-time show , and enjoy an absolutely unique immersive experience, full of surprises, and set in one of Barcelona’s most emblematic buildings. After La Pedrera you are free to wander nighttime Barcelona and find the perfect venue for dinner on your own.
